Washburn Academy of Clearwater High School students received a guided tour of the SS American Victory stationed in the Tampa, Florida. The ship, over 450 feet long, was built in 1944 and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The SS American Victory is last of its kind and the only one available for tours. More impressive is that this ship was only designed to last a maximum of 20 years, but 70 years later she is still operational and periodically sails around Tampa Bay.
