The Washburn Academy of Clearwater High School students took a look at the history of Tampa today at the Tampa Bay History Center.
Our knowledgeable and engaging tour guide provided an additional dimension to our museum experience with a guided gallery tour. We were also privileged to multimedia presentations exploring what happened with the conquistador’s first encounters with Florida Native Americas.
Students learned about the Seminole Indians who moved into Florida only to be ultimately driven back out. Students also learned about the booming industry that put Tampa Bay on the map — the cigar industry. We ended the field trip at hands-on museum at the Center. The students learned a lot and had a blast.
